Helped by encouraging figures on U.S. gasoline demand and lower-than-expected U.S. inflation data, oil prices rose on Wednesday. Oklahoma energy stocks ended the day with some big gains and some big losses.
West Texas Intermediate crude for September delivery went up $1.43 to $91.93 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for October delivery managed a $1.09 increase to settle at $97.40 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
September natural gas rose 37 cents to $8.20 per 1,000 cubic feet.
While oil prices rebounded, it turned out to be a strange mix of a day for Oklahoma energy stocks.
While Empire Petroleum gained more than 8%, LSB Industries lost more than 10%. Matrix Service rose nearly 8% and NGL Energy Partners dropped more than 5%.
