Crude slipped Thursday–so did OK energy stocks

Oil prices slip after rise in US crude oil stocks | The Star

The continued concern of investors about increased rate hikes in the U.S. as the result of inflation left crude oil prices lower in Thursday’s trading. Investors fear a rate hike might affect the demand for oil.

West Texas Intermediate crude for August delivery dropped 52 cents and closed at $95.78 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude for September delivery closed down 47 cents at $99.10 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

August natural gas fell 9 cents to $6.60 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Oklahoma energy stocks had a weak Thursday with losses outnumbering gainers. Empire Petroleum finished down 5% while Chesapeake Energy lost more than 4%. Sandridge was off more than 3%.

Energy Transfer LP (ET) down 0.20 at 9.66 – change 2.03%

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) down 0.16 at 24.47 – change 0.65%

EOG Resources (EOG) down 3.52 at 95.12 – change 3.57%

ExxonMobil (XOM) down 1.70 at 83.14 – change 2.01%
