Crude oil dropped again in Thursday’s trading, falling 3% after OPEC+ confirmed an increase is planned in oil output in August. It left some Oklahoma energy stocks with a big gain for the day while others suffered losses of 7%.
West Texas Intermediate crude for August delivery fell $4.02 a barrel to settle at $105.76 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for August delivery settled at $114.81 a barrel, down $1.45 on the ICE Futures Europe.
August natural gas fell $1.08 to $5.42 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks ended up mixed for the day with at least Empire Petroleum recording a nearly 9% gain while two others, Chesapeake Energy and Laredo Petroleum had nearly 7% losses.
