ONEOK subsidiary seeks federal funds to build pipeline in North Dakota

Viking Gas Transmission Company | Bakken Oil Report

A subsidiary of ONEOK ended up being the only company to apply for millions in federal coronavirus aid in North Dakota for the construction of a natural gas pipeline before the deadline on Monday.

Viking Gas Transmission requested $10 million to build a 12-mile pipeline that would link to its existing pipeline in western Minnesota to provide gas to the Grand Forks area. Total cost of the project is $26 million.

Meanwhile, another company announced this week it was abandoning plans to construct a natural gas pipeline from western North Dakota’s oil patch to the eastern part of the state, citing regulatory uncertainty and rising construction, labor and land-acquisition costs reported the Associated Press.
