White House now says it was ‘forced’ to renew oil and gas leases

6 important ways to avoid playing the blame game

After blaming Russian leader Vladimir Putin for causing an increase in gasoline prices in the U.S., the Biden administration now says it was forced by a court ruling to restart oil and gas leasing on federal lands.

The latest finger-pointing came after President Biden drew considerable criticism this week from climate activists who contended he broke his campaign promise.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Monday said the court ruling was “forcing our hand” and that President Biden’s policy is to “ban additional leasing” reported The Hill.
