Enverus rig count shows drop nationally

 

The U.S. rig count was down by two week over week at 757 rigs as of April 6, according to Enverus Rig Analytics. But the Texas-based firm showed rig numbers were on the increase in the Anadarko Basin.

Activity levels are down 0.3% in the last month and up 58% YOY. The count was as high as 761 in the last week, which is down 14 compared to the prior week’s peak.

During Q1, the U.S. added 68 rigs, or 10%, and exited the quarter with 749 running. The quarterly average of 731 was up 12% sequentially and up 65% YOY.

In the Anadarko Basin, the Q1 average of 65 was up nine rigs compared to Q4.

In Appalachia, an average of 52 rigs were running, up five sequentially. The DJ was up two at 16, and the Gulf Coast added 11 to its quarterly average of 88. The Permian rose 30 rigs to a Q1 average of 285, while the Bakken edged up three to 33.
