Residents around a polluted ethanol plant await lawsuit outcome

A year after the state of Nebraska filed suit against an ethanol plant that used pesticide-treated seed corn to produce its ethanol, attorneys are quiet about their progress in the legal matter.

Owners of the AltEn plan recently used the word “deny” 500 times in one of their legal responses. The Nebraska Department of Energy and Environment also created a website to offer the public more information about the status of the fight.
