Rep Hern says Biden’s budget is a continuation of his attack on US energy industry

Oklahoma congressman Kevin Hern sees President Biden’s budget proposal to Congress for fiscal year 23 as another attack on the energy industry.

“The Biden Administration began their attack on American energy on Day 1. Today’s budget announcement continues that war, ensuring prices at the pump continue to rise and further increasing our dependence on foreign oil,” stated the Tulsa Republican this week.

“Biden is following through on his campaign promise to end fossil fuels, a move that will destroy jobs in Oklahoma.”

He went on to charge that President Biden’s tax increases proposed in the budget will realistically impact all Americans regardless of their tax bracket. Hern said Biden made the campaign promise to only raise taxes on the wealthiest Americans and now is breaking that promise.

“Inflation is the number one issue facing our country,” said Rep. Hern. “Instead of addressing this problem, Biden’s budget proposal only increases the economic pressures that are suffocating American families. More spending is not the answer; we will never spend our way out of an inflation crisis.”

Hern chairs the Budget and Spending Task Force for the Republican Study Committee. Last year, it produced the only budget in Congress (HERE).
