With fears easing over the Omicron variance, crude oil prices made more gains in Wednesday’s trading, settling at more than $72 in the U.S. and nearly $76 in Europe. But it proved to be something of a tepid day for Oklahoma energy stocks.
West Texas Intermediate crude for January delivery went up 31 cents to finish the day at $72.36 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for February delivery rose 38 cents to close at $75.82 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
January natural gas rose 11 cents to $3.82 per 1,000 cubic feet.
For Oklahoma energy stocks, it was a day of losses and gains. The strongest gain of the day was recorded by Helmerich & Payne where stock value went up nearly 6%.
