Crude oil futures managed another large gain in Tuesday’s trading as prices in the US pushed closer to $83 a barrel while in Europe, crude finished at $85 a barrel. But the price climb didn’t help Oklahoma energy stocks for the most part.
West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery, trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 52 cents to close at $82.96 a barrel.
Global benchmark Brent crude for December delivery went up 75 cents and finished at $85.08 on ICE Futures Europe.
November natural gas prices went up too, climbing 10 cents to close at $5.09 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oil’s continued climb in price didn’t appear to help many Oklahoma energy stocks on Tuesday. Some, like Alliance Resource Partners lost more than 5% while Cypress Environmental Partners managed a nearly 5% gain for the day.
