Oklahoma U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe and others on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will vote Wednesday on three more EPA nominees.
In the 10 a.m. eastern time hearing, the senators will consider Biden’s nominations of Carlton Waterhouse to be Assistant Administrator of Land and Emergency Management at the Environmental Protection Agency; Amanda Howe to be Assistant Administrator for Mission Support at the Environmental Protection Agency; and David Uhlmann to be Assistant Administrator for Enforcement and Compliance Assurance at the Environmental Protection Agency.
Waterhouse, nominated to run the EPA’s office in charge of cleaning up the country’s most toxic waste sites has been accused of being an “extremist” for his stances on law enforcement funding and reparations policy.
In September, Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton accused him of supporting “fringe environmental and racist policies.”
The committee will also hold hearings on the President’s nominations of Christopher Frey to be Assistant Administrator for Research and Development at the Environmental Protection Agency and Jennifer Clyburn Reed to be Federal Co-Chair of the Southeast Crescent Regional Commission
