Crude oil prices made another rung in the ladder of higher prices on Tuesday inching closer to $85 a barrel in the US while settling at a strong $86 a barrel in Europe. But it didn’t help most Oklahoma energy stocks.
West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery finished up 89 cents at $84.65 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. That amounts to an increase of 1.06%.
Brent crude for December delivery didn’t have as strong a close, but still managed a 41 cent increase to $86.40 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
November natural gas slipped 2 cents to $5.88 per 1,000 cubic feet.
What was the impact on Oklahoma energy stocks? Not so good as at least 13 companies recorded losses for the day including 3% by PHX Minerals. But Alliance Resource Partners had a 3% gain and Devon rose 2%.
