US crude prices settle above $70 a barrel

A day after crude oil prices dropped in trading both in the US and overseas, they managed an increase in Tuesday’s trading with US prices finally topping the $70 level.

It came after US oil prices hit $70 a barrel on Sunday for the first time in nearly 3 years, underscoring the rebound since prices plunged below zero in April of last year.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil for July delivery finished up 82 cents at $70.05 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude oil for August delivery rose 73 cents and closed at $72.22 a barrel.

July natural gas rose 6 cents to $3.13 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Oklahoma energy stocks didn’t exactly soar with news that crude oil prices hit the $70 mark for the first time since October of 2018.

Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. rose 26 cents or 4.13% to settle at $6.55.

Blueknight Energy Partners LP lost 4.14% on a 17 cent fall to $3.94.

Chesapeake Energy slipped 3 cents to $55.51 for a loss of 0.054%.

Cimarex Energy Co. rose 40 cents to $70.85 and a gain of 0.57%.

Continental Resources, Inc. finished up 57 cents at $35.90 for a gain of 1.60%.

Cypress Environmental Partners LP recorded a 1.72% gain of 4 cents to close at $2.36.
Devon Energy fell 7 cents for a 0.23% loss to $30.85.
Enable Midstream Partners LP dropped 5 cents to $9.30 and a loss of 0.53%.
Gulfport Energy Operating Corp. fell 38 cents to $61.79 for a loss of 0.61%.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. gained 1.23% on a 40 cent climb to $32.89.
LSB Industries, Inc. rose 22 cents for a 3.17% gain to $7.16.
Magellan Midstream Partners, LP dropped 48 cents for a 0.93% loss to $51.20.
Matrix Service Co. was unchanged at $10.96.
NGL Energy Partners LP fell 5 cents to $2.26 for a 2.16% loss.
OGE Energy Corp. fell 19 cents to $34.04 for a loss of 0.56%.
ONE Gas Inc. slipped 8 cents to $75.59 for a loss of 0.11%.
ONEOK Inc. closed up 61 cents and a 1.11% gain to $55.78.
Ovintiv Inc recorded a 16 cent increase to $31.76 and a 0.51% gain.
PHX Minerals Inc. added 10 cents to reach $3.45 and a 2.99% gain.
SandRidge Energy Inc. rose 10 cents for a 1.57% gain to $6.45.
Unit Corporation finished up 59 cents for a 3.77% gain to $16.24.
Williams Companies Inc. finished down 6 cents and a 0.21% loss to $28.17.
