Large solar carport powers 3 state buildings in Santa Fe

A nearly $7 million solar carport has gone operational in Santa Fe, New Mexico powering electricity for state buildings.

The 1.6 megawatt structure is powering three government buildings and was constructed as part of the State Buildings Green Energy Project according to the New Mexico General Services Department.

The carport is expected to supply about 40% of the annual power need reported the Albuquerque Journal.
