Facebook expanding its Nebraska operations with $400 investment

While Google expanded its operations in Pryor, Oklahoma, Facebook is doing the same in Nebraska…and in a big way.
The company announced this week plans to add 1 million square feet and a $400 million investment in its existing Papillion Data Center in Springfield, an expansion involving more than 500 acres of land southwest of Omaha reported the Omaha World-Herald.

Facebook said it will maintain hundreds of construction workers on-site for years to come, the press release stated.

Google has poured large sums of investment in northeast Oklahoma where it has a data center. In 2019, the company announced it planned to invest another $600 million into its data center at Pryor.

The investment would result in local employment of more than 500 workers at the center and bring Google’s total investment to more than $3 billion.
