Operators and investors of Oklahoma energy stocks have to be wondering what the week will bring…more Biden moves against the industry? What can bring their stocks back into positive territory after Friday’s down day.
Oil futures in the U.S. settled lower as well and reportedly because of concerns about energy demand. West Texas Intermediate crude for March delivery lost 14 cents or 0.3% and settled at $52.20 in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Despite the loss, WTI prices for the month of January still ended with a more than 7% increase.
Global benchmark Brent crude had a 0.63% gain after stocks rose 35 cents and closed at $55.88 in trading on ICE Futures Europe.
Oklahoma stocks followed in WTI’s shadow with loss after loss after loss. One of the biggest losses for the day was Cypress Environmental Partners LP which dropped 13.50% when shares fell 44 cents to $2.82.
