Colorado coal plant operators complain of early closing orders by state regulators

 

Colorado air quality regulators moved last week to order three coal-fired power plants to shut down two years earlier than the operators had planned. Operators of the plant aren’t happy about the move.

Tri-State, Xcel and Platte River Power were hit with the orders as the state said the early closings have to be carried out to meet greenhouse gas targets, reported the Colorado Sun.
