New round of layoffs by Halliburton in Duncan–another 240 let go

Another round of layoffs by Halliburton at its Duncan, Oklahoma operations was announced this week. At least 240 manufacturing workers lost their jobs effective April 29.

“This is a mass Layoff and the facility will remain open,” stated Halliburton spokeswoman Danyelle Huff in a WARN notice made with the Oklahoma Office of Workforce Development.

It was brief notice and came after Halliburton already had laid off 350 workers in Duncan on April 6. The early-April layoffs followed the layoffs of an estimated 600 workers and the closing of Halliburton’s new command center in El Reno.

Halliburton had previously run a command center out of Duncan but in 2014 transferred hundreds of jobs to the El Reno site.
