Two injured in fire at Williams gas plant in northern Colorado

A fire at a Williams natural gas plant in northern Colorado’s Weld County on Monday left two workers with non-life threatening injuries.

The Williams Companies’ Mustang natural gas compressor station remained closed at last week while an investigation was under way.

Williams public relations and media specialist Erica Jones said there was no immediate threat to the surrounding areas and nearby homes were not evacuated.

The station remains closed, and will stay closed through the process of evaluating the plant and surrounding area.

Jones said there is no set timetable for that process to be completed.

“Once emergency personnel secure the area, Williams will work with appropriate regulatory agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident,” the release said.
