IOGCC prepares for annual meeting in OKC

The Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission is preparing to hold its 2020 annual business meeting in Oklahoma City in May.

The May 17-19 event will include discussions on spill prevention, orphan wells, drones, community engagement, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and the Waters of the U.S. Rule.

The IOGCC is taking early registration for the event and plans a reception on Monday, May 18 at the Devon Boathouse where attendees will have a chance to take part in a dragon boat race on the Canadian River.

Originating from Chinese fishing vessels, these festive boats are decorated with fierce dragon heads, colorful bodies and elaborate tails. The longest boats measure 18 meters long, are almost the length of a large metro bus and carry a team of 20 paddlers plus a drummer! Smaller boats carry teams of 10 paddlers and a drummer.

The conference will be held at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel.
