Devon brings in more big producers in STACK

While oil prices tumble, Oklahoma City’s Devon Energy has been filing reports on a series of wells in Oklahoma’s STACK—two series of 3 sister wells with production of more than 2,000 barrels of oil a day.

The largest producers were the three Minnie Haha 12_ 1-15n-10w wells drilled at a site about 12 miles southeast of Watonga in Blaine County. Their official description was 12 15N 10W which is in a sweet spot of oil production for Devon.

The first well had a Feb. 11, 2019 spud date and its production was 630 barrels of oil and 1,663 Mcf of natural gas from a depth and length of 20,254 feet, according to its completion report. Completion of all three wells was made in August 2019.

The second well had a February 28 spud date and it produced 650 barrels of oil a day and 1,518 Mcf of natural gas. Its length and depth totaled 20,172 feet according to its completion report.

The third and final well from the same pad produced the most oil—912 barrels of oil daily and 2,191 Mcf of natural gas. Its completion report showed the well with a March 1 spud date and completion was made from a depth and length of 20,344 feet.

Devon wasn’t finished there as it filed reports on three Harold 16_9-15n-9w wells drilled from the same pad at 16 15N 9W which is a site approximately 12 miles southwest of Kingfisher and in Kingfisher County. The first well had a January 31 spud date and ended up with production of 555 barrels of oil daily and 1,580 Mcf of natural gas from a depth and length of 20,153 feet. Completion of all three wells was made in July 2019.

The second well produced 696 barrels of oil daily and 2,750 Mcf of natural gas from a depth and length of 20,129 feet according to its completion report. It had a February 17, 2019 spud date.

The third well, with a March 4 spud date and a depth and length of 20,038 feet produced 757 barrels of oil a day and 2,387 Mcf of natural gas according to its completion report. Total production from all three wells was 2,008 barrels of oil a day

Devon wasn’t finished in the STACK as it reported three sister wells drilled at 7 16N 8W which is a site 9 miles west of Kingfisher and one mile north of state highway 3. Combined production from the Northstar 7_6-16n-8w wells was 930 barrels of oil a day. One well produced 236 barrels of oil daily while a second brought in 414 barrels of oil a day. The third well produced 280 barrels of oil a day. All three wells were drilled in a range of more than 18,000 feet.
