Sister wells for Marathon produce 3,200 barrels a day in SCOOP

Two sister wells drilled by Marathon Oil produced nearly 3,200 barrels of oil combined a day in Oklahoma’s SCOOP play, according to completion reports filed with Oklahoma regulators.

The two McCloud 0304 wells, located at 6 3N 4W or about 3 miles southeast of Lindsay had June 2019 spud dates. The largest well had production of 2,111 barrels of oil a day and 1,539 Mcf of natural gas from the Springer formation at a depth of 23,070 feet according to its completion report. It was completed in October 2019.

The second McCloud 0304 well had an October 2019 completion with production of 1,077 barrels of oil a day and 1,258 Mcf of natural gas. Drilling depth was 18,156 in the Springer formation. Combined production from the two wells was 3,188 barrels of oil a day and more than 27,000 Mcf of natural gas.

Completion reports showed Continental Resources was busy in the SCOOP, drilling three wells at 20 3N 4W in Garvin County. Combined production from the three sister wells was 693 barrels of oil a day. The company also reported completion of two wells in Grady County.

EOG Resources, active around Blanchard and Newcastle completed one well in Grady County and another in McClain County.

Trinity Operating USG LLC completed a gas well in Hughes County and another in Pittsburg County.

Comanche Exploration Co. LLC completed two oil wells in Dewey County while Red Bluff Resources Operating LLC completed a well in Canadian County. Tulsa-based Citizen Energy filed a completion report on a gas well in Custer County.
