Oil leader named to head Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce

From heading Oklahoma’s largest oil and gas group to becoming the new leader of the State Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma. It’s the transition Chad Warmington is making after being chosen following a six-month, nationwide executive search process that involved more than 100 candidates.
The search committee picked Warmington who will leave his position as President of the Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma.  Warmington led the merger of the Oklahoma Oil and Gas Association and the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association into the new Petroleum Alliance.

“This job is the culmination of my years of experience in being a passionate advocate for Oklahoma,” Warmington said. “I am honored to have the support of the Board of Directors and look forward to engaging and unifying our members and leading the voice of the business community of Oklahoma.”

Warmington takes over an organization where he had previous experience. He served as the Executive Vice President of the State Chamber and managed political, government affairs and marketing operations. Warming also was Chief of Staff to three Speakers of the Oklahoma State House and served on the staff of former U.S. Senator Don Nickles and was campaign manager for multiple statewide candidates.

Warmington will replace former State Sen. Fred Morgan.

“Chad is a talented and experienced executive,” said Morgan, President and CEO of the State Chamber. “Having known and worked with him for many years, I am confident he will be an excellent President and CEO for the State Chamber of Oklahoma.”

Morgan will continue to lead the State Chamber through early 2020 to ensure a smooth and successful transition for his successor.

“Chad’s background, experience, and passion make him an ideal candidate for this role, and I believe the State Chamber and the Oklahoma business community will thrive under his leadership,” stated Steve Hahn, chairman of the Executive Search Committee.

““I’m grateful to those who have served on our search and advisory committees over the last six months, and to Schnake Turnbo Frank who oversaw our process with professionalism and integrity,” said Steve Hahn, Chairman of the State Chamber’s Board of Directors. “After a thorough and collaborative search involving close to 100 candidates, we chose a finalist whose background, experience, and passion make him an ideal candidate for this role.”

The appointment of Warmington will be effective Feb. 1, 2020.
