Colorado drillers report success in STACK

The latest completion reports filed with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission show Cimarex Energy Company with a well producing more than 1,100 barrels of oil a day, active drilling by Camino Natural Resources in Canadian County and no letup by Chaparral Energy in the STACK.

Cimarex Energy reports the Vessels 2h-3526x well at 35 15N 12W in Blaine County had production of 1,143 barrels of oil a day along with 7,691 Mcf of natural gas. Located about 4 miles west of the community of Greenfield, the well had a November 2018 spud date and drilling finished in December. Completion was made in January of this year at a total depth of 22,135 in the Mississippian formation. Cimarex, a Denver-based company used 16,734,770 gallons of fluid at 20,269,013 pounds of proppant on the well.

Camino Natural Resources, another Denver-based exploration company reported completion of six wells drilled in Canadian County. Two wells on a single pad were drilled south of El Reno at 19 12N 7W while two other wells on an adjacent pad were drilled at 35 12N 7W. The six wells had production of 696, 405, 516, 794, 311 and 250 barrels of oil a day.

Camino also drilled 3 wells in Grady County. One was a dry hole and two others had production of 423 and 415 barrels of oil a day.

The Jack Swagger 0606 29-1wh, located at 30 6N 6W or 2 miles southeast of Chickasha was drilled to a depth of 12,215 feet when it got suck. Records show the driller “fished and attempted to continue drilling” but the “hole started packing off.” Records show “decision was made to abandon and move surface hole 40′ north.”

Chaparral Energy continues with its expanded drilling in the STACK as the Oklahoma City company reported two more wells in Garfield County and two in Kingfisher County.

The Luigi 1605 wells at 18 16N 5W in Kingfisher county had combined production of 1,202 barrels of oil a day. They were completed in May 2019 at a site about 4 miles east of the city of Kingfisher.
