Gasoline prices drop a dime a gallon in OKC

In the past week, gasoline prices in Oklahoma City dropped a dime a gallon.

That’s according to GasBuddy’s survey of 669 stations in the metro area which found the new average is $2.09 a gallon. Nationally, prices fell about 6 cents to reach a new average of $2.62 a gallon.

Over the last five years, prices averaged $2.20 in 2017; $1.80 two years ago; $1.86 in 2015; $2.58 in 2014 and $2.89 in 2013.

Including the change locally during the past week, prices on Sunday were 11.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago and are 41.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has dropped 24.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 7.5 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

Areas near Oklahoma City and their current gas price climate:
Tulsa- $2.15/g, down 6.4 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.21/g.
Wichita- $2.24/g, down 7.9 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.32/g.
Oklahoma- $2.30/g, down 8.8 cents per gallon from last week’s $2.39/g.
