Final planning for annual governor’s Water Conference

Online registration is underway for the upcoming Governor’s annual Water Conference and Research Symposium to be held in Midwest City.

The ‘early bird’ registration ended Oct. 31 which included a $200 registration rate. As of Nov. 1, the regular rate of $250 is being charged. The event is scheduled for Dec. 5 through the 8th.

The conference and symposium are a partnership between the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and the Oklahoma Water Resources Center located in Stillwater. The Water center has hosted a Water Research Symposium every year since 2003, bringing together researchers in the water field.

The Center began holdings its meetings in 2007 in conjunction with the OWRB’s Oklahoma Governor’s Water Conference each fall.

Hundreds normally attend the conference which focuses on the latest water issues on the state, federal and local levels. Recipients of the Oklahoma Water Pioneer Award are also recognized at the event.
