Cheniere Energy reports a 3Q profit following a loss a year earlier

Cheniere Energy, Inc., a Texas-based company with major operations in Oklahoma reported $65million net income in third quarter 2018 following a reported loss a year earlier.

The company said its per share value had a 26-cent profit.

The company indicated total revenues for the quarter came to $1.8 billion, up from the $1.4 billion reported at the end of September, 2017. But revenues for the nine months of the fiscal year have grown 45%, reaching a total of $5.6 billion.

Consolidated and adjusted earnings rose from $442 million last year to $569 million this year.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 27 cents per share.

The natural gas company posted revenue of $1.82 billion in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.5 billion.

Cheniere Energy shares have climbed 15 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 24 percent in the last 12 months.
