Oklahoma Congressman Markwayne Mullin is among the latest to get a congressional endorsement from the GOP clean energy group Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions.
The group endorsed the 2nd District Republican Representative in an announcement on Wednesday as he seeks re-election in eastern Oklahoma. Mullin has served in the U.S. House since 2013 and is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
“America faces big challenges and it’s critical that candidates address them openly and with concrete solutions during the midterm elections. When it comes to growing our economy, bolstering our national security, and preserving our climate, voters and candidates are embracing clean energy. CRES is proud to endorse Rep. Markwayne Mullin for his demonstrated leadership and support of a cleaner energy future,” said CRES Executive Director James Dozier.
The group cited Mullin’s record:
- Voted to protect funding for key Department of Energy programs that promote innovation and investment in clean energy technologies.
- Introduced legislation to increase the use of low-emission, natural gas vehicles, and to increase investment in federal programs focused on research, development and deployment of advanced efficiency natural gas technologies
- Cosponsored legislation supporting investment in innovative clean energy technologies
