NW Oklahoma’s frack sand plant opens for business

The new Preferred Sands frack sand plant in northwest Oklahoma is open for business.

With the presentation of an Oklahoma flag by Sen. Casey Murdock of Felt, the plant was opened this week at a site west of Seiling and near Oakwood.

The large operation sits along highway 270 and will eventually have nearly 300 employees.

Brent Quillen, a former U.S. Army officer was named manager of the plant.

Work on the operation began last spring as first reported by OK Energy Today.

But northwest Oklahoma has another frack mining operation. It is located near the Dewey county town of Fay as we reported in June.
