Job cuts already made at Conoco operations in Bartlesville

ConocoPhillips didn’t wait until September to make workforce cuts at its operations in Bartlesville and Houston.  Reports indicate they were taken last week.

The Bartlesville Examiner reported a Phillips 66 spokesman confirmed the workforce reductions occurred in the past several days.

The paper quoted Dennis Nuss, director of media and external relations for Phillips 66 as stating the round of reductions was “minimal” for the offices in the two cities and no further reductions are expected for the remainder of the year.

“Phillips 66 can confirm that workforce reductions have taken place as part of our business transformation program,” Nuss said in a statement Friday. “Fewer than 100 employees overall were impacted. Most of the affected employees were at our Houston or Bartlesville locations. We do not anticipate any further planned reductions in 2018.”
