Baker Hughes reports growth in 2Q revenues

Baker Hughes reported a 3% increase in revenue totaling $5.5 billion for the second quarter of 2018.

The Houston company also said it represented a 2% increase in revenue compared to a year ago. It represented adjusted operating income of $289 million for the quarter which was also an increase compared to the first quarter and to the second quarter of 2017.

Orders for the quarter totaled $6 billion which was up 15% from the first quarter of the year. It also was a 9% increase over one year ago.

Baker Hughes GE chairman and chief executive officer Lorenzo Simonelli said the company’s Oilfield Equipment segment had its largest orders quarter since 2015. Equipment orders were up 30% over the first quarter of 2018 and service orders saw a 7% increase.
