Advice to State Leaders—–Don’t Mess Up Oklahoma’s SCOOP and STACK Plays

Two things came out of Oklahoma Oil and Gas Association President Chad Warmington’s recent interview on Scott Mitchell’s “Hot Seat” show on News 9 over the weekend.

One is that the state is doing a good job of handling efforts to develop tighter controls and regulations of disposal wells in order to reduce earthquakes in the state.

The second is a warning to the state—don’t mess up the development of Oklahoma’s two hot oil plays, the SCOOP and the STACK.

‘It has massive potential. Billions of dollars are going to be spent. Billions of dollars in tax revenues are going to be earned for the state of Oklahoma,” said Warmington. “But we can’t have our regulators and our legislators mess that up. And that’s what we’re trying to warn everybody.”
