EPA wants tougher emissions standards on big trucks

  The EPA came out Monday with proposed stronger emissions standards on heavy-duty trucks, proposing to make them effective in 2027. The agency stated the proposed standards would reduce emissions of smog- and soot-forming nitrogen oxides (NOx) from heavy-duty gasoline and diesel engines and set updated greenhouse gas (GHG) standards for certain commercial vehicle categories.
