New well in Oklahoma’s Stephens County

A southern Oklahoma well produced nearly 1,000 barrels of oi a day when it was completed earlier this year.

A completion report filed by Black Mesa Energy LLC of Tulsa was on a Stephens County well, 36 1S 4W , located east of the town of Alma.

The Rangers 36-25-1s-4w Sxh 1, spudded in December 2021 was completed in mid-March with production of 952 barrels of oil a day and 1,439 Mcf of natural gas. The well was drilled at a depth of 17,460 feet in the Sycamore formation.

There has been no letup in new drilling around the state. Some of the latest permits to drill went to Ovintiv Inc. for a site in Canadian County, Trinity Operating USG LLC in Hughes County and Silver Creek Oil & Gas LLC in Hughes County with a two-well, single-pad drilling project.

Calyx Energy III LLC has a permit for Pittsburg County and Silver Creek Oil & Gas LLC received a permit for a well in Pontotoc County.
