The latest Baker Hughes rig count showed a growth of one rig in Oklahoma with a new total of 65 oil and gas rigs active in the state.
A year ago, Oklahoma had only 30 working rigs in the state.
The U.S. count, reported Baker Hughes dropped by one in the past week to 763 total. The new count showed 3 more oil rigs for a total of 601 while the number of gas rigs declined by one to 160.
The latest figures show 262 more rigs from a year ago when the count was 501 including 203 more oil rigs and 58 more gas rigs.
Oklahoma’s count of 65 rigs compared to Texas where the numbers fell by one to 372 and to New Mexico where the count was unchanged at 104. North Dakota saw no change this week as it count stayed at 37 rigs.
Louisiana gained two to a new count of 64. The Red Top Rig Report showed Kanas gained two to reach 60 working rigs while Colorado stayed at 21.
Ohio was unchanged at 11 rigs while Pennsylvania saw a decline of two to 23. Wyoming continued with 20 rigs and West Virginia gained one for a total of 13 rigs.
The Permian Basin count slipped by one to 346 while the Eagle Ford where Devon Energy nearly doubled its lease-holdings in the past several days was unchanged at 72 working rigs.
The Ardmore Woodford dropped two, leaving only one working rig. The Arkoma Woodford slipped by one to six working rigs. The Cana Woodford saw a gain of two to reach 25.
The Barnett count fell one to 3 while the D-J Basin was unchanged at 17 rigs.
The Granite Wash was unchanged at 7 rigs.
The Haynesville saw no change with 69 while the Marcellus count fell 3 to 35. The Mississippian remained at only one rig.
The Utica added one rig to reach 12 while the Williston saw no change at 39 working rigs.
