U.S. crude oil prices made a slight gain on Friday but prices still fell after a week of trading. Oklahoma energy stocks had a weak day in trading, just one day after recording some large gains.
The decline for the week came on worries that an economic slowdown might weaken demand for crude oil.
West Texas Intermediate crude for September delivery managed a 27 cent gain to $90.77 a barrel Friday on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for October delivery managed a 13-cent gain to finish the day at $96.72 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
September natural gas rose 15 cents to $9.34 per 1,000 cubic feet.
A day after an outstanding day of gains, Oklahoma energy stocks on Friday performed rather weakly with the exception of a 9% gain by Mammoth Energy. Others like Chesapeake Energy recorded losses for the day. Chesapeake had a 6% loss for the day.
