The world’s events had little change on U.S. crude oil price in Monday’s trading while Brent crude settled above prices in the U.S. But Oklahoma energy stocks started the week out in a strong fashion.
Apparent worries over a possible recession in the states were among one of the issues at hand along with the outlook for higher fuel demand with the approaching U.S. summer driving season.
West Texas Intermediate crude for July delivery managed a one-cent increase to $110.29 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for July delivery gained 87 cents to settle at $113.42 a barrel in ICE Futures Europe.
June natural gas rose 66 cents to $8.74 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Monday saw some strong gains by Oklahoma energy stocks including a nearly 10% jump for Laredo Petroleum along with 6% increases for Continental Resources, Gulfport Energy and Ovintiv.

ExxonMobil (XOM) up 2.02 at 93.88 – change 2.20%
