Crude oil prices on Wednesday suffered a 2.5% drop after the government reported increased output from U.S. refiners. Oklahoma energy stocks went the same route with several seeing losses of 5 and 6%.
West Texas Intermediate crude for June delivery fell $2.81 and settled at $109.59 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude for July delivery, the global benchmark, dropped $2.82 or 2.52% and closed at $109.11 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
June natural gas rose 7 cents to $8.37 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Wednesday turned out to be a losing day for many Oklahoma energy stocks. There were several 4, 5 and 6% losses recorded by the companies we usually list on a daily basis.
