Crude oil prices made a rebound on Wednesday and so did Oklahoma energy stocks with some seeing nearly 11% gains for the day.
The return to higher crude prices came because of reported tight supplies and word that U.S. refiners increased processing activity to their highest since prior to the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
In the U.S., West Texas Intermediate crude for July delivery bounced back 56 cents or 0.551% to settle at $110.33 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude, also for July delivery, went up 47 cents and finished the day at $114.03 a barrel in trading on ICE Futures Europe.
June natural gas rose 17 cents or nearly 2% to $8.97 per 1,000 cubic feet.
But the big bounce was by Oklahoma energy stocks including SandRidge Energy with a nearly 11% gain and Laredo Petroleum up nearly 6%. Mammoth Energy and Ovintiv had 4% increases for the day.
