Because major refinery operators Valero Energy Corp. and Tesoro Corp prefer to continue getting crude oil delivered by rail, Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP has canceled a proposed pipeline to carry Texas crude oil to California.
The Dallas company said it shelved the $2 billion line that could have carried 277,000 barrels of oil a day reported the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
