Enverus reports nationwide rig count decline

 

The U.S. rig count fell by seven in the last week to 694 as of Jan. 19, according to Enverus Rig Analytics.

However, during the last week the daily count reached as high as 708 compared to a maximum of 705 the prior week. The largest week-over-week declines occurred in the Gulf Coast (minus four to 79) and Anadarko Basin (minus three to 61). The DJ Basin resisted the trend and added two rigs at 18 total.

The rig count is up 1% in the last month and up 65% YOY. On the month, the Gulf Coast was down by seven rigs, while the DJ and Williston (33 rigs) were flat. Both the Permian (268 rigs) and Appalachia (53) added four rigs each in the last month, while the Anadarko Basin added two rigs.
