Crude oil prices move closer to $90 a barrel

Wednesday brought another gain for crude oil prices as they reached more than $87 a barrel in the U.S. while overseas they approached the $90 mark.  This, as tensions grew over Russia’s deployment of nearly 100,000 soldiers along the border with Ukraine.
West Texas Intermediate crude for March delivery went up $1.75 to settle at $87.35 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for March delivery rose $1.76 and finished at $89.96 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
February natural gas jumped 23 cents to $4.28 per 1,000 cubic feet.
It proved to be a mixed day for Oklahoma energy stocks. While Cypress Environmental Partners shot up 12%, Mammoth Energy fell 6%.
