Chesapeake doesn’t plan to get out of oil exploration

With its $2.4 billion acquisition of Chief Oil & Gas and sale of oil assets in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin to Continental Resources, Chesapeake Energy would look like it’s devoting all attention to gas exploration and not oil.

But the company’s Nick Dell’Osso, Chesapeake’s CEO says not so fast. The company has no intention of unloading its oil assets in the Eagle Ford play of South Texas.
