A slight increase on Thursday left U.S. crude oil prices just under $77 a barrel while Oklahoma energy stocks managed some overall gains.
West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery went up 43 cents or 0.56% to finish the day at $76.99 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for February delivery rose 9 cents or 0.11% to $79.32 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
The increase in WTI and Brent crude came despite increased Omicron coronavirus infections and word that OPEC and allies will continue to increase imports only incrementally.
Natural gas for February delivery dropped 7.51% on a 46 cents fall to $3.56 per 1,000 cubic feet.
It was a mix for Oklahoma energy stocks as Cypress Environmental managed a 5% gain for the day while Gulfport Energy lost nearly 4%.
