Up one day, down the next—just like a pump jack.
The see-saw price of crude oil took a nose-dive in Wednesday’s trading. So did Oklahoma energy stocks.
While West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery rose by $2.22 a barrel in Tuesday’s trading, a day later it plunged $2.81 to finish the day at $81.34 a barrel
Global benchmark Brent crude for January delivery fell $2.14 to $82.64 a barrel after making a $1.35 climb to $84.78 on Tuesday.
December natural gas took another drop, falling 10 cents to $4.88 per 1,000 cubic feet.
It was not a good day for Oklahoma energy stocks. A handful had losses in the 4-5% range while some were far greater including Cypress Environmental where the loss was more than 11%, Laredo Petroleum’s and SandRidge Energy had 9% losses and NGL’s was 8%.
