Senator calls out Chesapeake Energy and others over natural gas exports

Two Oklahoma companies, Chesapeake Energy and Ascent Resources are among a handful of other energy companies accused by U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of “corporate greed” and exporting record amounts of natural gas while imposing massive price increases on consumers.

This week, the Democratic Massachusetts Senator called on energy companies to explain their decisions to export record amounts of natural gas. She identified 11 energy companies, including Chesapeake Energy Corp. as well as Exxon Mobil, ConocoPhillips and Occidental Petroleum according to Reuters.
