Public hearings start on Oklahoma’s proposed EV charging station rules

Oklahoma Corporation Commissioners are moving ahead with plans to create new rules governing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in the State.

A notice of proposed rulemaking was filed this week as the commission plans to eventually adopt the rules in February 2022.

The Commission’s Public Utilities Division plans its first technical conference on Dec. 8, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.

A second such conference will be held on Jan. 12, 2022 at 10 a.m. followed by a third technical conference Feb. 2, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.

The conferences are open to the public and commissioners might be on hand.

The Commission also is inviting all interested persons to submit comments regarding the proposed rules on or before Dec. 10, 2021 and Jan. 7, 2022.

The final public hearing will be held on Feb. 23, 202 at 9:30 a.m. where the commission will consider adoption of the proposed permanent rules.
