Devon helps fund southeast New Mexico fire departments

Oklahoma’s Devon Energy is making sure local fire departments in southeast New Mexico have equipment and funds they need to respond to emergencies.

The company recently donated to six fire departments in Lea County as part of the company’s commitment to supporting emergency responders in its operating areas.

“Emergency responders are the backbones of our communities and regularly put their neighbors’ needs above their own,” said Devon senior community relations Shannon Johnson. “Devon is proud to make these contributions, helping ensure local firefighters have the necessary equipment to perform their jobs well.”

Recipients include:

·         Eunice Fire Department

·         Hobbs Fire Department

·         Jal Volunteer Fire Department

·         Knowles Fire Department

·         Maljamar Fire Department

·         Monument Fire Department

The donations will help the organizations purchase equipment and better serve their local communities. Municipal departments may use the funds for training, equipment and supplies.

Devon also awarded donations to 12 fire departments in Eddy County.
