Crude oil prices continued their march upward in Monday’s trading and settled at more than $84 a barrel in the US and nearly $85 in Europe. Oklahoma energy stocks enjoyed the ride too.
West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery rose 48 cents or 0.57% to finish at $84.05 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for January delivery finished up 99 cents or 0.99% at $84.71 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
December natural gas fell 4.42% or 24 cents to $5.19 per 1,000 cubic feet.
The climbing oil prices resulted in a good solid day of trading for Oklahoma energy stocks including SandRidge which saw a nearly 6% gain and Devon Energy with a 5% increase.
Some other energy stocks also saw more than 4% gains for the day according to the Texas Energy Report.
