Solar panel shortage raises concerns in New Mexico

How America's Great Economic Challenge Suddenly Turned 180 Degrees - The New York Times

Whether it’s a shipping bottleneck or tariffs on China’s manufactured solar panels, the shortage of the panels is raising serious electrical power supply questions in New Mexico.

Public Service of Mexico told regulators in recent days that the global solar panel supply problem is interfering with the firm’s plans to abandon and retire its coal-fired San Juan Generating Station in the northwest corner of New Mexico. It means the company’s  large planned solar project, meant to replace the coal-fired plant might not be fully operational until a year after the coal plant is retired reported Reuters.
